Getting around Melbourne:
Public Transportation:
The city's CBD is very commuter and public transport friendly. The conference venue is based in Fitzroy on the edge of the city centre, and well connected by trains, trams, and buses. Furthermore, Melbourne is a bike and eScooter friendly city.
Twenty bus services stop within 450m of our Melbourne campus. The bus stop right outside the conference venue is called "Australian Catholic University/Victoria Pde". Busses 302 | 303 | 304 | 309 | 318 | 350 | 905 | 906 | 907 | 908 are servicing this bus stop.
Furthermore, the closest tram stop is only three minutes' walk away. This tram stop "12-St Vincents Plaza/Victoria Pde" is serviced by trams 11 | 12 | 109.
The nearby "Parliament" Train Station is serviced by 14 lines and is on the City Loop. There are frequent services all day to stations on those 14 lines, and to Flinders St Station. The walk from the station to the campus is only 600m (about a 10-minute walk) on good, well-lit paths.
To find the best bus service for you, we recommend that you use the PTV Journey Planner.
Travel by car:
Unfortunately, the ACU has only a small inhouse parking garage and that is reserved for lectures and students. However, there are a few parking options around. The closest ones to the venue (ACU Saint Teresa of Kolkata Building) are:
